Jürgen Enge presented the OASIS Project in detail at the Workshop "Survival and Maintenance of Media Based Art" from Ludwig Boltzmann Institut Media.Art.Research in Linz. On June 19 focused on the project of a book and web publication, based on the results of the workshop and edited by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Media.Art.Research.

The main topics are the various existing and developing strategies for the "survival" and "maintenance" of media based art as there are:

  • description and documentation of complex or changing or ephemeral structures ** categorization and possible standardization of vocabulary
  • contextualization of media art in the shifting historical developments of art, technology and society - preservation including emulation of data formats ** archiving and digital data storage

Additional topics are

  • copyright and authorship questions
  • publication of research in multi media format

The aim of the workshop was to establish a network of expertise including models for collaborative projects.
