HfG: May 2006

The Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) organizes every year a so-called knowledge year – 2006 was dedicated to computer science and all its applications. The year of information technology wants to encourage interest and curiosity for the digital developments of our society. One of the highlights of the year of IT was the exhibition „KunstComputerWerke“, in which the OASIS Project was Karlsruhe. The event took place from May 12th to 21st 2006 at the HfG Karlsruhe and the ZKM Karlsruhe | Center for Art and Media. The presentation of the OASIS Platform was organised by the HfG. As may be seen on the picture in addition to general information in relation to content, demands and requirements of OASIS also insights into the MediaWiki database of the HfG, which presents diploma theses.

Among others at the KunstComputerWerke exhibition the winning entries of >digital-sparks< were shown, a prize which is bestowed for computer science student artworks by the internet platform www.netzspannung.org. Added were current positions from electronic art and research. Finally „KunstComputerWerke“ was supplemented with a wide variety of evening events, where current perspectives of computer science and art were discussed.
