This website submits a comprehensive introduction to the website, research and development of the OASIS Archive Project and Activities. OASIS is the acronym of Open Archiving System with Internet Sharing. It was funded as a project by the European Union under the master program Culture2000, Agreement No. 2004 – 1475 / 001 – 001.

OASIS Website

The OASIS website covers the entire duration of the project from May 2004 until April 2007. Based on the detailed descriptions as well as the results available on the web it shows that the project can be considered to be successfully concluded. Currently the OASIS Platform is made available the public.

The documentation expands on the artistic and technological developments and presents the results of the basic research. This is followed by remarks on the distribution and utilisation of the funding. Finally we outline in which form the work of OASIS will continue to exist and where real efforts of consolidation and extension have emerged. Thus the desired sustainability of the project is supported.
